Ellen's on elm began bringing gifts for all seasons of life in February 2009, when owner Ellen Holthaus first opened the doors to 841 Elm Street. A former nurse, Ellen has always had a heart and authentic love for people. In the back of her mind, she also had a dream to someday own her own business where customers are genuinely cared for and appreciated.

Ellen's on elm is truly about family - in more ways than one. Ellen's husband, John, is her CFO. Their two children, Kathleen and Luke, are always happy to stop by the shop and help. Kathleen is an attorney in Chicago and Luke is a newly appointed firefighter in Bluffton, South Carolina. In the moments when she is not living her dream at Ellen's on elm, Ellen spends her time playing tennis, reading, running and enjoying precious time with family.
